A Beginner Astrology Workshop on the Houses

The “houses” or “places” in Astrology, are really where the rubber meets the road. Participants will learn the ancient, Hellenistic understanding and practice of whole sign houses. The 12 houses give us information about different areas of your life. Put briefly, they cover things like:

1. Self (mind and body)

2. Personal Finance 

3. Siblings & extended family

4. Parents, ancestry, and the physical home & homeland

5. Children/fertility, Creativity, pleasure

6. Physical health

7. Relationships 

8. Death and other people’s money

9. Cultural institutions (e.g. University, religion), foreign travel

10. Career/Vocation and public reputation

11. Friends and networks 

12. Mental health

In this workshop, you will learn how to evaluate the way that Hellenistic Astrology suggests these types of topics will probably fare for you in general over the course of your life, and at specific points in time when houses become particularly “activated.”

The houses are a crucial concept to understand in order to begin to start making more specific predictions. 

***If you do not have your birth time, then you will not not be able to know what the houses look like in your birth chart. You are still welcome to come and learn, as you will be able to apply these concepts to other charts, but unfortunately not your own if you don’t know what time your were born***

You will walk away with the printed slides of Aleena’s powerpoint, a copy of your birth chart, and other helpful worksheets to support your Astrological learning. You will have the opportunity to ask a professional Astrologer specific questions about your chart and receive a personalized interpretation. 

We welcome skeptics and believers, the open-minded and curious, for all intuitive and magical people ready to go deep. This first half of the workshop will be a presentation on key concepts, and in the second half we will go through each participant’s birth chart together (if you would like) to illustrate the interpretive principles learned. You will leave feeling inspired, connected on a cosmic level, and with a sense of awe and wonder at the mystical and numinous nature of the universe. 

About the Astrologer

Aleena is full time, professional Astrologer, Yoga Teacher, and Artist. She's been studying the stars since college, where she completed her bachelors of science in physics at Yale in 2016 with a thesis in cosmology, using stars to map the history of the universe and predict its future. Aleena has always taken symbolism very seriously, but it wasn't until later in her 20s that she found out her inclinations and approach to interpreting everything she learned in physics symbolically wasn’t some far out delusion, but a natural human impulse that has been practiced for at least 4,000 years across every culture. As an astrologer, Aleena specializes in timing: helping people to study their pasts in order to get a sense of their future using many ancient Hellenistic “Time Lord,” techniques. She has a special passion for helping creatives, change-makers and those who understand or are interested in the relationship between inner and outer world transformation.
