Reading the Cards When They Turn Upside Down

What happens when the cards don’t appear upright?

In this 90-minute hands-on tarot workshop hosted by our shop founder Lily, we’ll explore the mysterious and often misunderstood world of reversed tarot cards. Rather than treating a reversed card as automatically “bad” we’ll learn how an upside-down card can reveal blocked energy, internal experiences, delays, hidden influences, excess, or an invitation to look at a situation from a different perspective.

Together, we’ll explore several practical ways to interpret reversals, including reading them through energy, shadow, blockage, internal vs. external expression, and reversal of the card’s traditional meaning.

You’ll learn how to:

• Recognize the different ways a reversed card can change a reading

• Move beyond the idea that reversed = negative

• Use the surrounding cards to understand what a reversal is actually saying

• Distinguish between a card’s upright energy and its reversed expression

• Develop your own intuitive relationship with reversed cards

• Practice reading reversals in spreads and real-life scenarios

No previous tarot experience is required, though familiarity with the Major and Minor Arcana is helpful. We do STRONGLY recommend you have taken a tarot 101 class with Lily before attending this class. 

Bring your favorite tarot deck and an open mind. We’ll be turning the cards upside down…and learning how sometimes, that’s exactly where the message becomes clearer.

What to bring?

-A TAROT deck (not oracle deck please), if you do not have a tarot deck please text us at 484-535-4646 and we may be able to provide one for you! 

- Journal or pen/paper

About the instructor:

Lily is the founder of Witch's Way Craft and Thirteen Circles. She has always been spiritual and felt connected with animals, humans, nature, and the energy around her. She started Witch's Way Craft to share her love for candles and show the world witches are functioning members of society, they are not evil or make believe. She wanted to show others the way of the witch and our craft to help normalize it and rid the stigma against those who identify as Witch or Pagan. Lily has been reading palms & tarot since the age of 11 and loves sharing the knowledge and understanding of readings. She is here to make the world. little more magickal and to show others that they have magick within them!

PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY! This event starts promptly at 6:30pm - The classroom will be closed at 6:30pm, if you arrive after 6:30pm and the class has begun you have missed the meeting and will not be allowed to enter. WE HAVE NO EXCEPTION FOR THIS LATE POLICY.
